The IBM System Storage TS1120: The TS1120 is also called the 3592-E05 and is the ideal high capacity drive for open system environments. The TS1120 (3592-E05) can compress data at a rate of up to 200MB per second and offers 60 percent more capacity and 150 percent more performance than its predecessor, the IBM TotalStorage 3592 J1A tape drive. With 896 tracks, a native data rate of 100 MB per second, and a burst data rate of 400 MB per second, the TS1120 is a powerful storage solution for just about any environment. 

The IBM TotalStorage 3592-J1A: The 3592 tape drive has a native DTR of 40 MB per second with a native cartridge physical capacity of 300 gigabytes. The 3592 tape drive packs high capacity in a small format, reducing space on the data center floor. The 3592 tape drive supports OS/400®, AIX®, and z/VM® operating systems as well as selected Sun Solaris, Microsoft®, HP-UX and Linux operating systems and is superseded by the IBM TotalStorage 3592 J1A tape drive. 

3590 tape drives are manufactured by IBM, Fujitsu and JVC. The 3590 tape drive offers a cost efficient, reliable solution that can be used with a variety of operation systems and platforms. Each 3590 tape drive subsystem includes cables, software, and SCSI controller suited for your platform.
