SDLT Tape Library
The SDLT tape library is widely used for data
storage and is offered by many major storage product manufacturers such as
Quantum, Overland Storage, IBM, ADIC, Qualstar and STK. The SDLT tape drive can
be installed in a small library or autoloader as a single drive with 10 or so
slots or six plus drives with thousands of cartridges in a enterprise class
library.

ADIC: Scalar i2000 – up to 48 drives and 1,395 media slots
Breece Hill: 6.210 – up to 6 drives and 210 media slots
Overland Storage: NEO 4400 – up to 16 drives and 216 media slots
Qualstar: TLS 68240 – up to 8 drives and 240 media slots
Quantum: P7000 – up to 16 drives and 679 media slots
Storage Tek: L700E up to 80 drives and 5,500 media slots
SDLT tape drives for the SDLT tape library are made by a variety of
manufacturers and come in one of three types; the SDLT 220, the SDLT 320, and
the SDLT 600.

· SDLT 320: native capacity & transfer rate of 110GB at 11MB per second and a
compressed capacity and transfer rate of 220GB at 22MB per second
· SDLT 220: native capacity & transfer rate of 160GB at 16MB per second and a
compressed capacity and transfer rate of 320GB at 32MB per second
· SDLT 600: native capacity & transfer rate of 300GB at 36MB per second and a
compressed capacity and transfer rate of 600GB at 72MB per second.
